This comprehensive intermediate-level course provides an in-depth exploration of the complete Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) development process, from initial pre-planning through final adoption and integration with other MPO products. Participants will gain practical knowledge of federal requirements, stakeholder engagement strategies, technical analysis methods, and emerging best practices in metropolitan transportation planning. The course covers all essential components, including data collection and analysis, travel demand modeling, public participation, project identification and evaluation, fiscal constraint development, and plan documentation and approval processes.
